Sustainability is incorporated into every choice we make in forming this bank. As a result, we have chosen to locate our headquarters at the Green Exchange.
The Green Exchange building is an iconic four-story 272,000 SF former factory being converted according to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum standards, incorporating a wide array of efficient and aesthetically-pleasing green building features and benefits.
The building was also home to the Frederick Cooper Lamp factory and is one of Chicago's most visible structures, given its location along the Kennedy Expressway at Diversey. Ninety-five percent of the original building structure will be rehabilitated and maintained to preserve its charm as a historic landmark.
Green Exchange will offer a variety of retail options, showroom galleries, office space, work/live lofts and attractive common areas, creating a national epicenter for green businesses and organizations. Once completed, the Green Exchange will be the country’s largest self-contained sustainable business community. It is a national model for sustainable redevelopment and has received numerous accolades and attention for its commitment to creating and fostering green collar jobs.
GreenChoice Bank has been selected as the official bank of the Green Exchange and is located on the first floor of this building. Our space was built out to LEED Platinum standards for Commercial Interiors, and we are anticipated to be the first LEED Platinum community bank location in the Midwest and one of only a few in the country.
